Journey sculpture, I'll Lead You by Krinkee Journey sculpture, I'll Lead You by Krinkee
finally finished my Journey sculpture!!! these are all the views, but my favorite is here: [link]

i decided to call it "I'll Lead You" since i wanted to make a more experienced player (shown by the higher levels of gold embellishment on it's cloak) leading a new player and showing them what to do. the people at Thatgamecompany are geniuses. its just beyond belief how you can bond so quickly with complete strangers, and an hour and a half later you're fast friends looking out for eachother :love: i guess this can be interpreted as two people meeting for the first time, in which case i'd call it "A Potential Friend" :)

i have to say thank you to all those amazing people out there who chose to lead others through the game and help them out. i had the good fortune to find a very kind white cloaked player who helped me and showed me everything they knew, and now that i have a white cloak too, i'm looking forward to doing the same for another player :)

so the actual place i sculpted in the game is the first fabric piece/scarf thing you find in the bridge level, but i added the gravestone since i like how they look ^^;

technical time! made with super sculpey on top of a wooden base and painted with acrylics :D

to those who haven't heard of journey, seriously, go look it up. NOW. it's life changing :love:

Thank you! I've actually improved it since I took these pictures and added real sand to the base. I'll try to update it soon :)

The base is 8 inches in diameter, and it's about 7 inches at the tallest point of the ribbon.

This is amazing!:la: I love when I meet someone else in the game- I think you've portrayed well that emotion:meow:

I'm currently working on a sculpture with cernit, and it's coming out somewhat similar to yours. I'm so sorry, I still hadn't seen your work! ___

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the compliment, and I've actually added sand to the base since I took pictures of it but I haven't been able to take good enough new ones yet ^^;

That's totally fine, no worries! :aww:

I can't wait to see the new pics! Journey is just so awesome! I plan on making it my next cosplay, gonna be so much fun. I really like your clay work too (I work with oil clay to make my foam latex masks and other clays for cosplay stuffs). :hug:

I'll get them up eventually, though I'm looking for a way to fix the ribbon. It keeps drooping down, and I was thinking about remaking it using air clay over metal mesh bent in the right shape. After I solve that though, I'll be able to put it up :) I don't have a lot of experience with cosplays or mask making, but the attention to detail in yours is simply awesome! I may make a Journey cosplay too, or a scarf, something along those lines :D

That sounds like a good idea with using metal mesh for reinforcement, I have used it too in similar situations and other things. Thank you very much, that means a lot <3! I think a Journey cosplay would just be so much fun to make, wear, run around cons in. ^^

Fantastic! I really like the idea of the more experienced Journeyer helping out the newer one.
Also, the way you've done the scarf rippling upwards is amazing! :D

thank you for the compliment!!! since it's a core element of what makes the game so special, i figured i had to include it, and i'm working on other sculptures now with a white cloaked player leading the newer red one :D i really appreciate your kind words though! the scarf was a pain to do but paid off in the end i think :aww:

This....this is just wonderful. Journey has rapidly become my all time favorite video game. ;_; Please, is there any way you would ever consider commissioning another one of these? I feel like it would complete my life right now. <3 :+fav:

it's on my list of favorite games too :D as far as commissioning goes, i'd be hesitant for two reasons 1) its copyrighted material, so im not really supposed to sell it.....and 2) sculptures are hard to ship since they're so fragile, particularly this one with all the thin scarves and stuff that stick up/out. but my main reason for not really feeling ok with commissions on this is the copyright...^^;

actually, as i'm sitting here contemplating, i realize that making sculptures, buying more supplies, and never selling anything is kindof how i got to my current state of having no monies...so rather than take commissions, if you're ok with it, i may actually sell the original. you can note me about it if youd like :)

i'm glad you like it! and i've gotten a note from a companion afterwards too, which quite honestly left me speechless. very nice though :D and yep, if you collect all the white glow-y symbols that lengthen your scarf, you get a white cloak. and lol, i have an unhealthy obsession with figures too :XD:
